    Anysoldier shirts?

Are there anysoldier.com shirts for volunteers and supporters available somewhere? I keep thinking it must be around the site somewhere and I'm just overlooking it.

Also, any plans to do something like this again? I found it while searching for anysoldier shirts (click to see the blog post). Very cool, and would be a big seller for care packages and vets.

    Thanks!

Hey Marty - I would love to see some anysoldier t-shirts or sweatshirts too. I ordered a baseball cap this week, but I would wear a shirt more often that the cap!!

Really want to.  Problem is stocking all the sizes, and the type of shirts.

We are leaning toward a nicer shirt with an embroidered logo on the front.  The printed shirts and sweatshirts simply didn't move that well to be worth doing.

    Stay tuned...

    Hi Marty,

Something nice with an embroidered logo on front would be fantastic.

Have you considered doing something through CafePress? Not sure if they do embroidery, but they do all sorts of other things. That site enables you to offer tshirts and all sorts of promotional items without the headache of inventory. They take a cut so your profits aren't as high per item, of course, but the low admin hassles and no need for inventory might be worth it. Also, you benefit from the promotions and visibility to a large audience who might not already be familiar with AS.

Here's an example of women's shirts in the 3ID shop

I think offering a few different types of shirts would be fantastic! I don't wear men's tshirts, which is what most groups get. Don't understand that, since most of the volunteers are women.

I would wear blue or red, but not white.

An embroidered logo on the front is nice. I'd prefer a polo style, but a heavyweight cotton tee would be fine.

Most women would rather have something written across the back, not the front. Having men reading your chest is....um...

so not comfortable. Matter of fact, having anyone read your chest is weird.

Can I get an amen, ladies?

Red and blue are great colors.

I see what you mean about the chest reading issue. It's most effective to have something on both front and back, so the message is shared coming and going. If you don't have anything on the front, it looks like a plain tshirt to anyone you talk with. It adds a bit of cost to put on front and back, but is worth it. Maybe the small logo and tagline on high left chest, and a larger design with cool design and web address on back.

I think it would be nice to hold a design contest and invite art students, graphic designers, and volunteers to participate. There are many examples of tshirt design contests - it is a great way to get a really creative design.

    Re: Anysoldier shirts?

I know what Marty means about keeping all sizes/styles in stock.  That is a big headache!

Already, this short conversation shows a wide variety of preferences.  I wouldn't wear a man's t-shirt, need the logo on front 'cuz of long hair, sweatshirts would depend on zipper, pullover, hoods, and so on...

I bought an AnyMarine.com patch and sewed it onto a good quality olive green sweatshirt.  Looks professionally done.  People often ask about it, especially when I have a full shopping cart of bulk items!!  That's when the AS business cards and pens come in handy - yeah!

Just started to hit the yard sales for books, DVDs, CDs, Beanie Babies and children's clothes for the HA projects, etc.  Here, in Southern California at least, there are SO, SO many homes with tons of brand new or barely used stuff.  The logo usually generates interest and they end up giving lots of things free or with deep disounts!!

Marty ~ I hope I didn't break any rules or legal constraints by sewing it on myself??  Please let me know if I did! Tongue Tied

    Warmly, Kaylynn

Hi, Kaylynn!  I'm certain there is no problem with sewing the patch on.  What else would we use them for?  :)  My husband bought me one of the patches and I haven't figured out what to sew it onto yet.  Like you, I want it to use when I go garage saling.  I look dorky in hats, so I will put it on a shirt of some kind.

You sure may use the patches for shirts, hats, whatever!  The patches are iron-on, or a local sewing-wiz used clear thread to put one on my bike vest.....
