    Big Lots good deals

When we went to Little Rock Thurs. we stopped at Big Lots (of course!) and found a few things that were decent buys:  3 oz. tube St. Ives extra dry skin advanced therapy lotion for $1 each, 12 oz. squeeze bottle of the same thing for $2 each, and a 2 oz. Suave for men 2 in 1 shampoo conditioner for $ .50 for those who need the travel sizes, and some decent toothbrushes for $ .40 and $ .50.  Happy shopping!  We couldn't afford to buy them out - this is a 5-wk. month for social security payments.

    Gran,

Thanks for the good info!!  I LOVE Big Lots.  I'll have to check it out this weekend.  I have to tell you.  One of my very good friends was deployed recently, I sent many items from Big Lots.  I also watched his house and cat while he was gone.  He has been back a month now, thank God.  It was so funny!  About a week after he got home, I stopped by with a Big Lots bag.  (I had gotten cat food on sale.)  He got all excited when he saw me carrying the bag in because he knew all the good things I had sent him while he was gone.  You should have seen his face when he found out I was bringing food for the cat, and not him.  It was priceless!!  He recently visited Big Lots with me, and is amazed at all of the treasures you can find there.

I  bought about 20 small plastic bottles of honey there last week for 25 cents a bottle.  I also bought a big box of different kinds of tea at BJs.  I need to do a search for a good recipient for these treasures, but if anyone knows of a contact that might be looking for tea and/or honey before I do,  please let me know.

    Hugs,

    Dawn

The Winter Haven, FL Big Lots had lots of good clearance items this morning.  I got:  full size Herbal Essence shampoos and conditioners for $1 each, full size Sunsilk shampoos for $1.50, toothbrush covers w/ floss in the cover (never had seen them before but they're cool) for $0.50, and Crest toothpaste in the fliptop container for $1 each.  I also got a neat poker set (cards and chips) with Schick quattro razor and cartridges included for $5.  Oh, and they had 3 packs of Dove deodorant for $3.80.

Gotta love BIG LOTS and Dollar Stores.     Was at Bit Lots yesterday.......they have 2009 calendars our already.   Nice selection of coastlines, mountains, oceans, cats, dogs, horses, inspirational, etc.   They had also 12 pack of poptarts for $1.20.......only strawberry in my store......but snatched them all up.   Jerky (terikai, hickory, original and smoked) for only $3.00 and many of them were 5 oz. (watch....some bags say 25%more).

The Dollar Store has yet to put up Halloween/Thankgsiving.........but in the aisle with the books and puzzles I found CDs of the relaxing kind.   I think there were 12 different one.   I got some with piano, harps, soothing nature, and other instrumental.   I thought this might be nice for the units that might need some quiet music while people are sleeping or just unwinding.

Just wanted to let you all know what I found this weekend.   I know all stores are different.....and in different locations......but just  a note to you all.   The music cds were nice.   I opened a few to listen.   I might get some for me to just listen to and go to sleep with.

Hope everyones weekend was relaxing and productive Smile

I know this is an old post but thought I would post anyway. I went to Big lots today(haven't been in years) and they had the big tubes of Healing Garden lotion for 1.00 each, the three bar pack of dial soap for 1.00 each, and some sample sets(5 or 6 trial size) for 2.00. Thought I would let you know.
