    Re: 2009 overlooked contacts

On August 21 SSG Alphonzo R McDaniel  updated and stated that he has not rec'd any packages and did not know what else he could put down to say he was still forward deployed. I sent him a package the next day, I got it back today. His address has not been updated/changed and he is still on the contact list with the same address. Any ideas? Could he have given the wrong address and that is why he is not getting any packages?

Given the 2 circumstances: a returned package, added to the fact that he states he has received nothing,  I would contact the AS support team to see if they can check out the address.  Explain it just like you did here:

Gran, I got 9 boxes off to Jennings before I left for the weekend, 42 boxes variety of Little Debbies,  100+ drink mixes, 6 boxes snack crackers,48 hot choc pkts, 36 variety soup mixes, 14 mw Chef Boy-R-Dee variety meals, 12 ham, Tuna, Chk Salad snacks, 24 indiv boxes raisins, 3 #'s coffee, 4 jars Coffee Mate, 3 pkgs indiv flavored creamers, (approx 40-ct), Splenda, (bookoo pkts) and 150 coffee filters plus 10 Cappuccino mixes for a change of pace.

Want to wait till I hear from him before sending hygiene stuff.  Don't know if they can share lg bottles body wash and toothpaste or if they are needing travel size and whether he needs sheet sets and or throws.

Sounds like you did a great job with one small exception.  We are not supposed to send ham as it is a pork product.  Hopefully that box will get through anyway.  Will have to wait and see.  Thank you for supporting them so thoroughly.

    Hi everyone,

I know Jonathan Jennings name has appeared on overlooked contacts and also wounded needing help.  Everyone has stepped up to the plate as usual.  Perhaps I should have posted on this page also when I updated on 'wounded needing help'.  Our church has adopted Jonathan and his group and hope to be sending to him shortly.  I will make sure hygiene items go first.  When I sent my first package I asked if they were needing pillows.  Hope to hear on that and will post if our church is unable to take care of that need.

Tiggle, your boxes will be very welcomed, I'm sure, but did you happen to write ham on the customs forms?  If you didn't, they might go through okay.

We got some large bottles of Pert Plus shampoo for men, so we bought the small empty travel size bottles to send along with them if they want to split it up between them, and to make it easier to get to the showers.

Got an e-mail thanks from Jonathan Jennings yesterday.  Got our pkgs in 6 days!  Must be a record.  We think most are taking 3 weeks...

    peach,

sounds like those pkgs. were sent on a wing and a prayer as the old war saying went.

I sent 2 to McDaniel.  One was delivered to the APO another is still in limbo.  I am hoping they don't get returned...I have heard nothing from McDaniel, but a mixed up address would make a LOT of sense here.

I also sent a couple of letters too and heard nothing, but they have not been returned yet.  We will see.

PS  Just went to look, it appears McDaniel has updated.  I am guessing some boxes have arrived since he mentions "more"  of some things.  I guess that is good news.

Criminy!  I completely forgot about that.  But all the boxes were labeled snacks, except the one of coffee/creamers.  Hope they get through.

Just wanted to add a name here... SPC Teia L. Martin; males: 225; females: 40; signed up September 22, 2009; only 5 requests (me being one of them)

Updated today and from the looks of it they may have not received anything yet. I plan on sending a box of Halloween candy and decorations and a couple of magazines hopefully by Friday.

Would it be better to spread some of this love around?
