I get some GREAT Ideas from all of you!-- I send BD Boxes regularly but never thought to send a Pinata... I sent a BD box just recently and received an email from the NCOIC saying they loved it and just had one of the kids have his 22 BD- They used a chocolate chip cookie-- Stupid me-- I should have sent some Lil Debbie Cupcakes too or Betty Crocker Warm delights -- Live and learn -- Next time- gonna send something to put those BD candles in

I got my very first Free Mail yesterday!  It was really cool.

When the free mail is scarce, it becomes exciting to even read the updates of our contacts on their AS page.  At least we know that they are okay for the time being, and their messages don't get lost for weeks at a time.

I've heard of that happening to someone else. Some kind of embedded code. I don't know how you make it readable. Perhaps someone with IT know how can help

I got an e-mail last week from Lettsi Morford (she's in old contacts, but we've been in touch all along), an e-mail yesterday from Kevin Ward, and today got a FREE MAIL from Curtis Braswell. This is the first time I've heard from Sgt. Braswell since I started supporting his group when he first posted on AS; they're at the end of their deployment and he wanted to say thank you for "every letter, every card, every gift, every treat and every prayer you sent us over these difficult months." Every one of his troops signed the letter, and he enclosed a picture of the group...I'm still doing the Happy Dance!

Oh, I do so treasure the 3 or 4 cards or letters that we have received that had everyone's signature on them.  They are just so special, aren't they?  To think that they took the time to pass them around for the signatures just sends chills up my spine.

 Wow - after a long dry spell with no FREE MAIL finally broken last week, I got another FREE MAIL today. *Happy Dance!* They loved the "Chicken Up On You" card...

Got two free mails yesterday myself after nothing for a long time - postmarked 9/17 and 9/21 from 09311 & 09310 (Afghanistan).  One from Fenty, one from COP Zerok.  One from a package mailed 9/14 and one from a package mailed in June - crazy!

I would love to receive an e-mail or Free Mail but I know it'll be a bonus.  I'm happy when I read that they have received the care packages in their messages on AS.  I always leave my e-mail address in my note to them but I know that they are really busy and focused on the task at hand.  If they can respond then great but if not it's good enough for me to know that I've sent something that they can use or share with others.

I'm happy for all of you that have received mail from your soldiers.  What a wonderful way to bond with them.  :) 

I got free mail today!!!  I have had to cut way back in the last few months and have only been sending to one contact who I rarely hear from by email.  So I was surprised today to find free mail in my mailbox.  I didn't recognize the name but the address looked familiar.  I looked it up on my list of boxes sent and it was a reply to a box I sent in the beginning of June!  I sure hope the box hasn't been in the mail all this time!  The letter was postmarked Sep. 20th.  It really is such a boost.  I was beginning to question whether my boxes were even worth sending any more since I can't send very often, but his note stressed how important the support is to them especially now as things are getting more and more heated.  I'll keep plugging away!
