    Hi, Cosmo

I hope you can solve your situation as soon as possible. You know, My grandma directs a little religious Institution in Brazil and every Christmas we give some nice packages to these very poor women and their children or grandchildren. But they are supposed to watch 75% of Saturdays classes every year to keep receiving it or the computer take them out of the list. And I'm talking about 80, 100 women - a ridiculous number comparing with sites like this. But it's the only way we have to avoid abuse from other women (it's already very difficult, in places like Brazil, getting the money to give packs to those who really go watch the classes). But once they come to one of us and let us know what happened, they will receive the packages, no matter what the computer says anymore. I am pretty sure it will be the same with you and your husband. As soon as you tell them what happened and they verify you two are real and awsome supporters, I truly do not believe they will keep you blocked.

If you could let us know how things are going in these next days,  I would appreciate.

Take care and God bless you,

     Barbara

CosmoGirl -- What Barbara said -- computers are ..... well....... computers --- please ask the Support Team to look into this for you and your husband.  You have nothing to lose and you, we, and most of all our troops that you support, have everything to gain.

    Take care,

     Hello, Friends

There are many soldiers' requests I read that make me think they are in need of an extra help, and I think junkie supporters are the best to do this. So I'm thinking about mentioning their name and conditions so you, supporters who have a LIFE (because I do not have one, at least until September) and don't have time to read one by one all soldiers'requests, can be aware of these cases. If you think it's ok, I can do this keep using this Forum or open a new one (you just let me know. I don't want make a mess at the website...). Anway, first case:

SSG Jose G. Caoili: he is representing 31 Males and 1 Female. They are in Kosovo, their adress was requested only six (6) times since they added, 08 Febbruary. He wrote yesterday, April 1st, thanking for the support but said that "there are still things that we need out here, like shampoo, razors,(...) or whatever you want to send is fine". It sounds like they didn't receive many packages.

(PS: in his first contact he wrote: "We are a bunch of guys from California. We didnt realize how cold it was going to be here, so socks and other things to keep us warm would be appriciated." They didnt check the weather conditions in Kosovo before leaving States!  Can you believe this? Men are always boys... this sort of things breaks my heart...)

    Barbara,

There is an existing thread for "overlooked contacts" where many low request contacts are being posted.  You might consider checking that thread.

     CosmoGirl,

I think there may be problems with the web site.  This has happened to others for no reason.  I had a problem where I couldn't even look at a contact's name after a search.  I emailed Marty and let him know.  We emailed back and forth a few times and he fixed it so that it would work.   Do not take this personally, like Marilyn said, computers are computers.  Let Marty know that there is a problem, otherwise he won't have any idea.  He is great about getting the kinks worked out on the web site.

    Thank you, Gran!

As usually, you are always too kind. (At this time, I am seriously considering to change my text profile at the military singles site and asking for soldiers born in Arkansas :-) )

Stephen Inman has some marines that don't receive mail.

He has been requested 9 times.

And then there is Major Hughes is on the opposite end of the spectrum with stuff. He sounds like such a great guy.

    Address Has Changed

Hello I recently emailed u requesting your care packages if it was possible, but I sent the wrong zip code. Very sorry for the inconvience and I hope that this isnt to late. Everything else in the address is correct though. Thanks again for all that u do for all of us over seas, it is much appreciated to the extent that yall will prolly never understand unless u have been deployed before. Thanks again. Have a good day!

Just take a lokk at his "MOS from Air force" LOL... I don't how they call it there:

Airman's Title: Quick response force machine gunner

And I can bet if he's not the best in what he does, he's one of them..... Men... I just love these guys. I really think they should follow Semyramis' strategy (even Alexander, the Great was her admirer), that used to send soldiers' wives with their troops to the war. All military moms, wives, friends, girlfriends, grandmas would feel better if there were at least some Female volunteers cooking, cleaning, doing the Laundry for these men... when they live alone they usually eat badly, even being in States, so can you imagine right there??

Oh, yes, you can, that's why you are AS junkies. And now I feel forced to send these guys something soon!!! They break my heart all the time!!! (oh, yes... because my finances its been a while they broke;;; hahahaha...but guess what? Every cent I spend thinking of them makes me give I 'warm' smile,....I know when I buy them something, I'm conforting some mom's heart :-) ).

Oh, yeah... men..... they will always be boys...

I was reading this thread, and I thought that I would pick up a new contact since a couple of mine are coming home soon and have hit their mail cut off. I picked up Christopher Moxcey. I sent out a letter last week, and I am sending a box with small electronic games, coloring books, crayons, water guns, magazines, etc. to his group soon!

I know I was the last person to post on this and all, but I wanted to share this...

I started writing to SGT Christopher Moxcey after reading this post. A few days ago, I recieved a lovely two page letter from him in the mail telling me a little bit more about him. Big SmileI sent him a package (the one I mentioned in my previous post) and a reply to his letter more recently.

I am working on another with some of the more special requests he had like Mexican candies, etc.
