    Prayer Request

A friend of the family, a young marine, 25, nearly drowned today during PT.  He was in battle gear in a pool at Camp Pendleton.  The family is not sure of what happened, but the doctors feel that he was underwater 5-10 minutes before he was pulled out of the pool.  Mind you this is a battle hardened marine, not some wimpy guy.  His wife is 7 months pregnant with their first child.  He is improving, but is still on a vent.  At this point, they can't tell if there is brain damage.  Please pray for a full recovery for him and ask everyone you know to pray for him.

I have posted the request on Facebook, so many of you will get the request again, sorry for the duplication.

    Thank you.

    Re: Prayer Request

This afternoon, they were going to start bringing his body temp up and try to wake him slowly.  I just got a message that there is no news at this time.

    Re: Prayer Request

It is a very unfortunate incident which this young man has faced, very sad.  In these times it may difficult to remain focused and stay optimistic, not allowing fear to overcome the faith that must remain strongest.  Gratefully, we have a wonderful God who has shown the face of miracles so many times.  I will continue to pray for this young man, asking God to heal his body, placing the light of His holiness around the marine.  I will pray also for the family, his wife who is expecting.  There is no need to apologize for duplicating the request of prayer, reach out to as many as possible to ensure God feels the strength of all His followers in their asking for this young mans restoration and recovery.  1Peter 5:7 Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you. God Bless you

    Re: Prayer Request

I would like to thank everyone for your prayers for the young marine who drowned back in July.  He was moved to a rehab facility for traumatic brain injury patients on September 1.  Up until that time he had been un-responsive.  He began talking almost immediately.  He also began to eat. They remove his trach after the first or second week he was there. He is in a wheelchair, but they have been able to get him up and standing.  He is improving daily, but still has a long way to go.  He was present at the baby shower for his daughter who is due October 30.  His wife has been amazing and spends at least 12 hours a day with him.  She is amazingly strong and taking good care of him.  I feel that it is such a miracle that he is alive.  I believe in time that he will be back.

    Re: Prayer Request

I wanted to update everyone.  James stood up the other day with the help of the handrails!!  Hooray!!  He still has a very long way to go, but day by day he is getting better.  He still has his sense of humor.  A couple of his friends who are out of the marines now, have made special trips from out of state to visit him.

By the grace of God, he will continue to get better.
