    Flag from Utah event

I just received my sponsored flag from the Freedom Riders Event in Utah.  I was expecting one of those tiny flags that people wave at parades, but this is a generous 3ft by 5ft flag. Folded perfectly.  Along with the flag was a certificate and a gift from dogtags for kids. It had the name of the soldier I had picked.  I selected his name  at random.

What hit both my husband and I......this soldier  was killed on 9/23/05.   Today is 9/23/09.  For a man we never knew there are tears.

Thank you Marty for your efforts. You have changed our world

     HUGS Amy

    Cheers,

    Amy

I received my sponsored Fallen Hero Flag today as well; honoring  SSG Gavin B. Reinke, KIA  Afghanistan 5-4-06 aged 32.

Of all the items that I have received over the years from various sources; this will be at the top of the list in a place of honor.

Thank you Marty for all that you do day-after-day....

We received our sponsored Fallen Hero Flag in today's mail also.  We found out recently that the Fallen Hero was closely associated with someone we had sent care packages to for a year making it even more meaningful and special for all involved.

Thank you Marty and family for all you have done throughout the year/years for us and for our Troops.

    Ann

We also received our sponsored flags. And as Amy said, there were tears for someone we did not know and will not forget. David M. Unger, CPL U.S.Army, 21 yo, 10-18-06 -  Wayne R. Cornwell,SGT U.S.Army, 26 yo, 3-20-07

    Thank you Marty

P.S.  My warriors were picked for me.  Out of curiosity, did you pick your warriors because you had supported them or just at random as Amy said she did?

I received the 2 sponsored flags yesterday too. I had chosen 2 but one was already sponsored so one was picked for me.

I didn't know or hadn't supported them as contacts . I had also picked at random.  Maj Henry S Ofeciar age 37,8/27/07

and  PFC Ashley Barnes-Lambert age 18-killed while home on leave.  We'll never forget any of them. Rest In Peace.

    Thanks for honoring them.

    Thanks Marty and anysoldier.com

    Re: Flag from Utah event

I sent the flag from the Utah event to a family member of the fallen soldier.  I received a very touching thank you.  They are having a case made for the flag, dog tag, and certificate.

Most touching of all, they looked up his anysoldier post and got to see what he actually wrote.  The relative said, "How wonderful.  It is the little things now that mean a lot.  From the bottom of my heart:  Thank you and May God Bless You."
