    Springtime/Easter Card Swap -- Due Feb. 25 2010

    Hello ladies........

Well, here we go........off to another card swap.    I realized I was hosting this......and maybe should have posted a week or so ago.......but wanted to wait til the Valentine Swap was completed.    I was looking at making this a due date of March 1, but see there is another swap closely behind this one.     So, I figure a month from today (given a few extra days!!!) will be the due date for the Springtime/Easter Card Swap.    Let's see how many slots we can fill.    I would like at least 20.....maybe 25.     Please email me if you are interested or just add your name to the post like we normally do.

Most of us know the rules for the swap.   But for those who are new here......these are the basic rules:

    1.   Make/buy cards appropriate for the theme.   This theme is Springtime/Easter.

    2.   Write a message in the card or leave blank for the recipient to use to send home.

    3.  Nothing overly religious.   No negative comments about the war (remember this is about supporting our troops).

    4.   Keep the enclosures to a minimum as to not add tooo much extra weight to the returning envelopes.   Pictures of family, scenery, etc.;  comics; puzzle page; letter; drink packet; etc.

    5.   Enclose a label with your address and the $4.90 in stamp or money to cover the cost of the Priority Mail envelope going back to you.

    6.  Have fun.    Any questions......just ask......many of us have done these swaps and will help out with any questions.

    Love peace and blessings.........Anne Marie

    Hi Anne Marie,

I've been on the fence here because I'm worried about being able to get the cards done, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Ladies........we are doing great already........on members for this cardswap.   We have 10 people........think of people who might be interested.......talk to them or send messages.......let's try to get at least 20 people for this swap.   I am excited about this .......I will be printing out pics of flowers I took last spring and putting on the cards.   Anyone have any ideas to share.    Let's talk to some newbies tooo and get them "hooked" on this project.

    Have a great week.........

    Re: Springtime/Easter Card Swap -- Due Feb. 25 2010

Hi Ann Marie!  I'm really excited to be a part of my first card swap!  After 2 weeks of anysoldier my hubby says I'm obessed!  But he said it with a smile AND he has been converted!  Just yesterday he gave me 2 stadium blankets and some insulated coffee mugs w/ lids from his work that they give to customers because it has the company logo on the items.  He handed me the stuff and said "would these work for your soldiers?"  Gosh, I love that man.  He even asked if I would order him an AS pin!

OK card swap.... my only lingering question is the letter.... do you write in the card and then an insert or am I picking this apart too much?  Also, how do I get your address?  I am terrible with computers so I apologize for my inability to understand the simplist things about how communication on them works.  (At first I didn't know that the reply button on the upper right was to add another "square" or post -- I assumed it would go to you and you only as a reply to what you had said.)  I'm slowly learning how to navigate on here-- I wrote this!  ha ha  I have two more boxes to pack and a trip to the post office so I'll check back later.  I have five cards already!  XOXO  Catherine

P.S.  I do not know how to add my name to your list of card swappers above :( could you do it-- I'm in with bells and whistles!

I thought about you and smiled today!

    Re: Springtime/Easter Card Swap -- Due Feb. 25 2010

    Hi Catherine,

Welcome to the card swap.  Don't stress about this, just have fun.  There is no right or wrong way and you will see that everyone does something different.  Some cards will be home made and some will be bought; some will be written in and others will be left blank so the troops can use the cards to send home.  Inserts aren't required, but if you leave the card blank, you will definitely want to include a letter.  It doesn't matter if you hand write it or type it, it just matters that you cared enough to write.  Anne Marie will separate the cards so that you will get at least one card from each participant.  If there are less than 20 participants, you will get some duplicates.  I've been trying to answer your question from another thread.  If I missed anything, let me know.

     Welcome,

    Donna
