    "desperately needed"

Read Capt. Christopher McNutt's post from today.  It's going to get a little stinky there if we don't help out.

Troop Smiley 2 Ok, I have a new "partner in crime", the school nurse. I have quite a bit of hand sanitizer on hand and a few packs of baby wipes. Nursie will help me fill a box. Just requested his address and will get this stuff in the mail asap. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    Hey junkies,

I requested his name and sent out tonight from Treat Any Soldier, 2 male hygiene, and 1 female hygiene.  I know some of the products use water, but I am sure they can still use the other items.

    Marilyn, sent you a PM

What is waterless body soap???  I've never heard of it.  Is he just talking about hand sanitizer?  I wouldn't think that would safe for sensitive areas at all.

    Thanks.

    Hugs,

    Sharon

Hi, Sharon -- waterless body soap is a product that cleans but doesn't require rinsing.  It is used most often in situations where someone is bedridden or has limited mobility.  I've never bought it, but you can probably get it from a home medical supply company.  I just googled & found this link http://www.caregiverproducts.com/site/270651/page/911684 There are several different products available on that site just so you can get a look and see what they are.  I'd start with a pharmacy or home medical supply company first, though, to discuss with a sales person to see what would work best.

In fact -- I think I'll do that tomorrow Stick out tongue

    Re: "desperately needed"

    Hello Everyone,

I have a little personal perspective on this since I was on extreme bed rest to maintain my twin pregnancy. I had to use water-less products for a while.

Many of your home medical supply stores will carry water less shampoo, water less soap and  body cloths.  The body cloths are like huge baby wipes, only ten times thicker and they contain a water less soap.  These products were a huge help to me.

I will get to the local home Medical Supply place and post brand names here as soon as I can so everyone can find them locally or on-line.

    Best,

    Susan C

o.k. medical supply place not carrying the shampoo, but they did have the Kimberly-Clark brand Soft & Thick Bathing Cloths.  These come 8 to a pack, are microwaveable, have a no-rinse cleaning formula and are pretty large 7.5 by 7.5 inches.  These are a wonderful product.

    Best,

    Susan

    Hi Folks,

I haven't been able to find anyone that carries the body wash, but I called Rite-Aid drugstore and they carry the shampoo and also the wash clothes Susan mentioned in her post.   I forgot to ask for prices, but will check that out if I get a chance to get over there during the weekend.

    Re: "desperately needed"

Some hospital pharmacies carry the waterless shampoo and body wash.  I have seen these products in medical supply stores and in pharmacies that carry home health products.  You can also buy it online.

The large bath wipes ( I think they are called Comfort Wipes) are carried at Walgreen's, you can buy the packages individually or a box of 4 packages.  It costs $12.99 for the box.  The individual packages are about $3.49.  I found them in the area where regular body wash is sold.  Rite-Aid has their brand in individual packages and they are under $3.  I believe their's was also near the regular body wash.  These wipes can be microwaved to warm them.

I have experience with all of these products and they all work very well.  The shampoo is amazing because you really do not have to rinse it and it does get the hair clean.

I hope this info is helpful.

I just wanted to let you know I got a postcard from BaD Company.  I didn't know who it was until I looked at all of my contact's addresses.  It was from the soldiers under our contact CPT Christopher McNutt.   I am so honored they took time out to mail me a postcard.  WOW!
