As you can probably tell by the picture, I really like hockey. I don't play it, but have been a huge NHL fan for over 15 years now, and have season tickets for the Washington Capitals.
My first experience with military care packages started when I was fresh out of college and didn't have two nickels to rub together - this was during Desert Storm. I read in our local base newspaper that you could send "Any Soldier" letters to the troops. Well, I did, and ended up "supporting" full time about 12 sailors/soldiers/marines throughout the entire war. I sent everything from taped football games to "Learn to Speak Spanish" tapes to miniture Christmas trees for all of them. It was a rewarding experience that I will never forget.
Because of 9/11, you are not allowed to send the random letters any more. So, when I wanted to get involved I didn't know where to turn. Until one day...I was searching the internet and found Anysoldier.com!!!
