I'm been with AnySoldier.com since May 2006. My first package was a 4th of July box. In avoiding pressurized cans, I was ordering bug repellant from Avon and my reps got excited and helped me by putting out an invitation for donations of money for sending/buying or by purchasing products to send. I made and sent about 100 cool ties last year. I found quantity lots on ebay and sent those to large groups.
I work or the Forest Service. 33 years. I can relate a lot to the conditions these young people work in because they're similiar to our fire camps. I know how nice it is when we're in a community and the community shows it's appreciation for what we're doing. So, this is such a natural for me.
I live in Temecula, California (southern). My children are gown and gone and husband left about the same time.
I'm looking forward to retiring next year and doing more volunteer stuff. I'll be working with Habitat for Humanity beginning this summer. I love to do projects around the house and have learned quite a bit through trial and error.
I have lots of bothers and sisters and both my parents are still here, so I have lots of family and activities associated with that.
My daughter is in Germany with her soldier husband who will be deployed to Iraq this summer. It will be his first tour. I pray he will be physically and mentally fine.
My son lives in San Diego and happily single.
