Very eloquent; I am glad you chose to post this. Pam

  • Re: Calling all scrappers! Scrapbooks for the wounded!

Amy: I have enjoyed reading about the scrapbook and card swap projects. Even those (like me) who don't do scrapbooks are inspired and delighted by learning about what you've done. I admire your leadership and enthusiasm. You will be missed, and your work will be admired and remembered. Pam

  • Re: Forum Basics

Jennifer:  Excellent information, and a good reminder for everyone on any internet forum or newsgroup. I would also suggest reading FAQs before posting. In the case of Anysoldier, I'd add reading the "Where to Send," "How to Send," and "What to Send" sections.    Pam

  • Re: Newbie Permathread

I've had excellent results using the search function on this site. Searching first often allowed me to ask more focused, detailed questions, and in some cases the search raised questions I wouldn't have thought of (after all, we don't know what we don't know). Pam

  • Re: They don't need hygiene supplies?

Thanks for everyone's interesting and thoughtful replies to my post. As I mentioned, I chose not to argue with the internet group where this issue came up. I do want to discuss Anysoldier at a later time and I've decided how to introduce the topic. The group in question is focused on discussion of our dogs. "Cute" photos of ...

  • Re: They don't need hygiene supplies?

Kathy: I looked at the post again this morning, and I think "defend the organization" is what's going on. I have to chuckle at their comments -- I worked for a huge corporation for many years, and the stories of supply mess ups were legendary (and probably exaggerated, but still...) I personally saw something like 300 ...

  • Re: They don't need hygiene supplies?

Jenifer: Good suggestion, but I may wait for another opportunity. A second expert has weighed in -- she mentioned 8 years in the military (not sure if she was in the military, or her spouse was) and assured everyone that the military takes good care of soldiers.    It's a fairly combative group, and I'm not one of the ...

  • They don't need hygiene supplies?

An interesting discussion cropped up on an internet group I participate in. Someone posted that her friend's daughter said the military didn't provide feminine hygiene supplies and that families were expected to send such things.  I mentioned Anysoldier, of course, and said I'd seen requests for all kinds of hygiene supplies. I ...

  • Re: Travelon Hygiene Sheets

I have used products similar to the hand soap. They worked well, but were a bit fragile due to packaging. These might be okay; certainly worth a try. Pam

  • Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

[quote user="empressfrancis"] Since I was never able to see the original post by CSM Callaghan and am so new, there is a lot I don't know.  I just had a question that I wasn't sure anyone had "heard".  Anyway, please forgive me for disrupting the wonderful rhythm of this incredible ...
