  • Re: AnySoldier Flyers for Halloween...

I love soldier support and anysoldier.com, but I wouldn't put "propaganda" in a kids' trick-or-treat bag.  THe last thing you want to do is tick people off in the name of anysoldier.com.    Just my opinion - YMMV.  cj/

  • Re: Sending Books

Note that you need to use your own boxes/tape (not Priority) if you want to send either Parcel Post or Media Mail.  You also can't mix other things with the books and still use media mail. cj/

  • Re: OPERATION BUNDLE UP - SSG Wootton

The easiest way to find a contact with a known name would be to use the View Contacts by pulldown and select Last Name.  Then for the case of SSG Wooton, choose the letter "W" and scroll through the list until you find the person.    The search function is a simple character match so you have to get it exactly right ...

Would it be better to spread some of this love around?

  • Re: School Letter Writing Campaign

I would also like to bring your attention to Andrew C. Watkins who writes that "Morale is low so any and all letters are welcome and appreciated".  Breaks a heart.

  • Re: Christmas decorations

For those co-habitating with the Iraqi or Afghani armies, I agree that it's a good idea to stay with the winter theme.  For others, I don't think it matters too much.... cj/

  • Re: School Letter Writing Campaign

While not letters per se, I just did a quick search on "artwork" and found that CPT Vanessa Stolzoff in AF and Major Tammie Yeats in IQ are both looking foward to receive artwork, and presumably letters, from children. And trying "letters from kids" yielded Erin Arentz (AF), SSgt Luis Chicas (IQ), and Joseph Washburn ...

  • Re: halloween candy

Can't go wrong with M-n-Ms and Reese's Pieces if you're unsure about chocolate surviving the weather.  Tootsie Rolls, Riesen, caramels, anything a little firmer.... I'm a chocolate lover, but have noticed that Swedish Fish, Sour stuff, Laffy Taffy, etc get requested a lot too. By the way, does anyone actually eat Candy ...

  • Re: Target - Great Deal on Flannel Sheets!!!

Stopped in a local Target yesterday and noticed that the dorm series for '09 was marked down to 75% off.   Picked up a couple of sheet sets in brown for $3.74 - hard to beat that!   The brown is 220 thread count and felt better than the black that were 200 thread count and priced at $3.24.  I thought they were worth ...

  • Re: Surprise Request (for adults only)

I supported a soldier and his wife in 2006 who lived together while deployed to either Iraq or Afghanistan (can't remember - zip was 09327).  Shared living quarters is not always an option, but is sometimes permitted in the Army.  Condoms might be required for those situations. In any event, it's not a banned item....the purpose ...
