  • Re: GySgt Jesus Deniz

Lilly, Thank You for Your info.  I received similar e-mail this morning (I received six names.)  I hope that there were enough people replying to his request to cover all his needs.  Also, I let him know that if necessary we would help with any "gap" he minght have. Thank You again. Slovenka

  • Re: GySgt Jesus Deniz

Gran, I agree that there may not be a problem with USPS (our PO lady said the same to me) however, it looks like the Fleet Post Office is having hard time getting the mail to that area.  I will send out packages ASAP after I hear from Gunny Deniz, even if it is past the Holidays.  I was just hoping for the Marines to get their ...

  • Re: GySgt Jesus Deniz

Kristin, Have You (or anyone out there) heard from Gunny Deniz?  I sent him MotoMail (he received it on the 11th - it took 8 days to get to him - the printer was down, I mailed him snail mail as well,) but I received no reply.  I think that it is getting near to the "cut off" time for this project since the mail takes ...

  • Re: Korengal Valley, Afghanistan

Lilly, I just came from TJ Maxx and I saw the same Thorlo sox there.  I believe they were $5.99 (not sure)  They were marked "slightly irregular" (I did not get them since I was not sure if they would be O.K. for such harsh use.)  I also saw them previously at Marshalls (same story -  slightly irregular.)  In ...

  • Re: Korengal Valley, Afghanistan - July 2008 edition

Hello, This spring I mailed mosquito netting to Camp Fiaz (Afghanistan)  I ordered it from Armynavyshop.com  The mosquito netting was "military type" (catalog #rc8088) - I paid for 10 yards x 60"? $40.00  I also sent duct tape "military type" (Catalog#rc8228) - it was $10.00  I had them ship it ...

  • Re: amazon.com??

Also, if You click on SALES & DONATIONS there is a bar marked OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP (it is between WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? and BUY OUR COOL STUFF! bars.)  When You click on that bar and go down about four groups You will see the AMAZON.com logo and the link that takes You there.  I use it as much as possible.  I agree, it ...

  • Re: Fruit cups?

I bought some for my guys in Afghany-land.  Later I decided that the cups would not make the trip, they were too flimsy.  So we ate the fruit - it was good,   just like canned fruit (no plastic taste.)  I went back to the pull-top cans, I think they have better chance to survive the trip.  Good ...

  • Re: Rat proof containers

I understand that the ammo containers are metal.  If You read posting from Michael C. Dismuke (old Marine contacts dated 29/11/07 - Afghanistan)  he mentioned that he stored his food in AMMO BOXES,  and he gave the reason why.  Since then, I send as much food as possible in metal containers.  If the rodents get to the ...

I shipped yesterday several packages to 09354 without problems.  US PS lady said there should be no problems with this zip.
