  • Re: 6-4 CAV REPLACEMENTS (Soldiers, Afghanistan)

Dear gkellams. It is never easy to have a loved one go to war. I appreciate your son and you (as well as the other members of your extended family) for serving our great nation. You have my greatest respect and appreciation. I, like so many others on this site, have loved ones at war. I know it helps...

  • Re: Magazines

Gran is right. You can't send magazines media rate. That really sucks cause they are so heavy. The box of books we sent was a regular cardboard box and was really heavy. It cost $9.80 media rate. It was loaded with paperback books. I don't think we could have put that many books in a flat rate...

  • Re: 6-4 CAV Soldiers, Afghanistan

Once everyone is back I will update you. Thank you for all the support you have shown to the troops of 6-4 CAV! It was such a help knowing that others were concerned with their welfare. I know many families can not afford to send everything their soldier needed.

  • Re: Got Afghanistan contacts?

Hi Everyone Please take a look at the recent requests from the Brigade that just arrived from Alaska. There are many without access to a px to buy simple things such as hygiene items. You can tell from what they are asking for that life is not the same for all in Afghanistan. Airbornedocmom

  • Re: You must be an AnySoldier Junkie if...

Well, basically, if there is a large group they are usually at a larger base, ie a FOB and not an OP or COP. They usually do have extra resources that the smaller groups do not. I know my son was at an OP where there were NO options for obtaining needed supplies. EVERYTHING had to be flown in by chopper...
  • Re: Korengal Valley, Afghanistan - July 2008 edition

Thanks for all the feedback. I do appreciate hearing from you all! I do ALWAYS use the FRB to mail stuff in to Afghanistan. I guess I will get back to sending our packages. I did tell the girlfriend that I was sure SOMEBODY was surely enjoying what we had sent. LOL I always send plenty to share around...

  • Re: 6-4 CAV Soldiers, Afghanistan

A supporter from North Carolina has 200 balacalvas on the way to 6-4 CAV. Per the 6-4 CAV Commander they should be good on balaclavas and all other winter gear once those arrive thanks to all of you and many others who have been so generous. If anyone hears differently please let us all know.

  • Re: Question about socks for soldiers

Here is a link to some socks that my son liked. He is where it is cold but this is what he wanted. They are quite reasonable. 9.99 for a pack of three but if you buy three packs of three they are 7.99 a pack. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp;jsessionid=HHEIXUNVSZ4VRLAQBBISCOFMCAEFEIWE...

  • Re: 6-4 CAV Soldiers, Afghanistan

va girl, My opinion about your question of continuing to send to your contact that hasn't been heard from in almost 60 days is to keep sending. Many of the Troopers have been moved around but the mail is being fowarded. One of the larger COPS and several of the OPs have not had much communication...
